an east van family lifestyle blog
You will read that young people in Vancouver are struggling to get by.
I’d like to think that we’re rising to the challenge.
Yes, affordability is an issue in Vancouver and living here does come with some sacrifices. As a family of five living on one income, we often have to ask ourselves, “How are we going to make this work?” But we have found that living with a bit of a stretch has afforded us the opportunity to be creative and practice contentment and we are the richer for it. My hope for this blog is that, as we learn, I can share helpful ways to thrive not just survive in our challenging city. My particular perspective on this is in the nitty gritty and yes, mundane, practical details of daily life.
Here you will find my musings on life in a basement suite and all things pertaining to “making-it-work” with little kids in one of the most beautiful and expensive cities in the world. If you have any interest in West Coast living, urban dwelling, house-sharing, community building, belt-tightening, child bunching, list making, reminiscing, and/or meal planning, you’re in the right place. Welcome here and enjoy discovering with us why living below grade really is the sweet life.
